KALAVANI 2010 PLOT
‘Kalavani’ directed by Sargunam and produced by Nazir, former manager of Mani Ratnam and to stars like Madhavan and Trisha, had its music launched at Satyam Cinemas here in Chennai today.

Director Mani Ratnam gave the first CD to Sasikumar, in the presence of Samuthirakani, Trisha, Parthiban, actress Saranya with the cast and crew of the movie. The music director of the movie S S Kumaran, who did ‘Poo’ earlier

‘Pasanga’ hero Vimal and new face heroine Oviya were happy to see the proceedings. Director Sargunam expressed his gratitude to all the celebrities who made it to the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Mani Ratnam congratulated his associate in producing the movie, while Parthiban made the entire hall laugh with his experiences.

KALAVANI 2010 STORY
Kalavani is about a guy who studies in a tutorial college in his home town and is very naughty. Heroine Helen comes to the hero’s village to study in 11th class. Movie tells their love story with a lot of humour and tell how people in village handle love

Director Mani Ratnam, who rarely attends film functions, has launched the audio of Kalavani on Monday at Sathyam Cinemas. The film is produced by S Nazir, a former production executive of Mani Ratnam.

After the launch, Mani Ratnam said, “Nazir is still the same today as he was many years ago when he worked for me. He bared the entire brunt of my work whenever there was a problem even in the direction department and we would lay the blame on the production side! For that I owe him an apology. I am very happy that he has turned producer today and is making a film like Kalavani with new directors and new actors. This shows his love for cinema. His success is like my own success to me.”

The audio CD was received by director Sasikumar in the presence of Trisha, Saranya, Parthiban, Na Muthukumar, RK Selvamani, hero Vimal, heroine Oviya ( debutants), director Vijay and new director Sargunam who debuts with this film. The music is by SS Kumaran who returns after his debut in Poo.

The interesting part of the function was that, each speaker was called upon to recount some tale of petty thievery, fraud or something naughty they have done in their lives, in keeping with the theme of the title of the film.

KALAVANI 2010 SYNOPSIS

Former production manager Naseer is making his maiden production with ‘Kalavani’. The film is directed by Sargunam, once an associate of Director Vijay of ‘Kireedom’ fame. The film’s shooting was completed within a short span and audio was launched recently. It was a remarkable event that the ace filmmaker Manirathnam confessed for being so rude with his production manager Naseer while filming his projects.

Naseer came across Sargunam, when he had reached his office to narrate a tale for Madhavan. Winning rave reviews for his pleasing performance in ‘Pasanga’, Vimal makes a full-fledged hero role with newcomer Helen from Kerala playing the role of his love interest.

SS Kumaran, who came up with a good music in ‘Poo’ has delivered some good tunes with this film. Speaking about the film Vimal says, “Soon after the release of ‘Pasanga’, there were many offers centered on stereotyped characters and I had to refuse them. Kalavani features me in the role of a happy-go-lucky role and will gain some good appreciations for me…”

With accordance to availability in theatre, the film is planned to hit screens during last week of June.

KALAVANI 2010 REVIEWS

The team of Sherali Films ‘Kalavani’ met the press recently to introduce the film. It is produced by S Nazir and directed by debutante Sargunam.

At the meeting Director Sargunam said “Kalavani will be a right mixe of romance and comedy with incidents from real lives of him and his friends”. While speaking the director repeatedly emphasized this film is a realistic film. He said he has registered the Tanjavur life and slang for the first time in Tamil cinema.

‘Kalavani’ music is composed by S S Kumaran who has given a hit in ‘Poo’ earlier. He said he has differentiated ‘Kalavani’ from ‘Poo’.

‘Pasanga’ fame Vimal and a new comer Oviya play the young lead pair in ‘Kalavani’.  Vimal said he followed the advice of Sasikumar and waited for this good film which will take him to the next level.

All the people who spoke promised a new fare.
Kalavani is all set to release on 25th of this month. The pioneer production of Naseer stars many stars like Vimal, Oviya, Saranya Ponvannan, Ganja Karuppu, Ilavarasu, Soori, Sujatha, Thiru Murugan with Vimal and Helen performing the lead role.

With Mani Rathnam’s Raavanan close on the heels of completing post production works, the Kollywood flocks will not get to see many movies. The movie is directed by Sargunam. It is heard that Helen’s name was changed by the director as Oviya.The Malayali actress’s gain of command over Tamil is attributed to director Sargunam’s insistence that she learn Tamil first before starting the shooting of the film.

The musical score by SS Kumaran is worth mentioning. The songs have already gained popularity and now the reaction for the movie is awaited.
